It's sad. I got into MTG in 94-ish. Seeing it head straight into a mountain is not enjoyable. Fortunately Rudy and most of the other collector side tubes are making it into an entertaining show. I sincerely hope the $1200 scam flops on its face.

Taxes, fees, whatever. I don't know what retail is here to be honest. I wouldn't buy fake useless cards even if I was a billionaire. I'd guess it's actually closer to $1600 in Canada when all is said and accounted for though.

Reprints allow new players entry, it isn't that serious.

Not when they cost about as much as buying an original and you can't even use them in any official game they don't. If the reprints were standard price and legal, great. But they aren't.

this, buddy gave me it to pilot in a local tourney I didn't even know I was playing in and it felt so dirty to play as well. This was like 13 years ago and I can't think of a consistent counter that warrants it being legal.
