Yea so my lvl 78 blizz sorc just died. gonna make a light sorc with all her gear (got it looted). just wondering if i should go max block with spirit monarch? or with ss? or just use lidless and go full vita like on my blizz (used lidless cuz i didnt ahve a monarch and didnt feel like using strength). btw, this sorc is mainly going to be mf... maybe do chaos and all when i get high enough lvl. Other gear includes viper (maybe dusk coh), p crown, and occy with lots of other crap.

5 fg to whoever helps the most.

use ss and max block~
do not use occy,the tp mode is very dangerous when u hit by monstor

well if ur not gonna use all the gg shit on light sorc do max block and some into mana 4 energy sheild it ur freind

on my sorcs i prefer using ss with going max out vita, since if u go max dex ur life will become weak , and u can alaways juv with more life =p

get some decent life while lvling. once u get abt lvl 40-50 odd. go for max blk w/ consideration to SS (add blking)
have your sorc str bugged so u can save pts on str and add into dex for max blk.

cheap gear which i am using would be
tal ammy+tal belt + armour OR nigma (better str bugging), str/mf belt + decent sorc ammy/maras
shako
hoto
ss
war travs (i am still searchin for 1)
chancies
rings would most prolly be str rings w/ fcr

gear shdnt be a problem with your amount of fg

p.s: light sorc has expensive gear esp gcs

liking your advice so far. just wondering tho, if i str bug my ss... which mods to i still get benefits from? will the dmg reduction and the block rate still be high, or will it be as if i have no shield on?

well u prolly need a nigma to str bug it on and by that time u need coh to keeo str up and if u bug it on yea u get benifits but i would max block on ss and put lil into mana since u got energy sheild mine as well use it then life iis rest

Here's how to build an amazing sorc:
Max Block
Enough str to bug everything on
all the rest goes in vitality.

For gear, do it this way:
Wizzy/ss (res jewel or lit facet in wiz, um in ss) -> should let you hit max fcr bp (depending on the rest of your gear) and give you tons of mana/reduced damage
switch: either cta/spirit monarch (eth) OR Faceted Eschuta's with a faceted lidless.

Use all your points at 75 when you can gear (torch, anni, etc) and ALWAYS maintain max block. Think of it this way: 1 hit from a decent monster = 200hp. Say you block 3 out of 4 hits (75% chance to block) that's 800 life right there.

Using this build, and some decent gear (I can list if you'd like) I got my cold sorc to 1300 life without bo, 2.3k with self bo and having max block, max resists, 11k blizzard damage, 10.5k iceblast damage (max cold mastery), and 45% damage reduce.

Key gear to use:
Shako with facet
+3 lightning ammy with str, dex or life (or maras or godly +2 sorc amulet)
Wizzy/SS
Eschutas/lidless with a CTA in stash to bo
fcr/str/dex rings preferably with resists/dex OR a bk and soj
Arachnid mesh belt
60+ life waterwalks (by far the best boots, don't listen to those freaks that are all about str bugging)
trangs gloves (cold resist > faster regen mana, especially if you pub baal)
+3 lightning ormus with um or facet OR COH OR perfect upped vipermagi with facet

Charms: high anni/storch, 9xx modded gcs (str/dex/life/fhr -> if you can afford), 9x life/single resist charms, 1 tp tome.

Skill points:
Max lightning, chain lightning, charged bolt, mastery and then your choice of nova or telekinesis
1 point in warmth (it's a life saver, really)
1 point in frozen armor

The reason to use telekinesis is basically this: It's synergy bonus to energy shield is that you lose less mana for every point in telekinesis. Say you take a hit doing 200 dmg which is redirected to mana, with max telekinesis you lose maybe 30-40 mana (can't remember, been a while since I made a light sorc).

Enjoy and don't die

Edit again: At level 93, you'd have ~48k lightning damage and ~16k chain lightning damage (assuming nova instead of telekinesis) using this build with max resists. Life is all dependant on your charms really. Good charms = 1300 life, crap charms = 1100 life.

he answered the qn u still get the mods and dmg reduction. all those were without consideration to adding runes like eld or ber to ss or shako. eld can increase blk rate for ss and ber dmg reduction or heck just add an ist or ptopaz for mf. u'll nid an anni and torch for str and res.

advice would be get max blk. i didnt get max blk for my mfer and i am regreting >_<
oh yah if ya using the nigma method, get tgods gd for baal runs coz of souls.
