anyone know if naming an item perms it? someone told me it did but not sure if its true.

this is not true. you can't dupe anything today and make it perm. perm items are perm because they were duped in 09 patch or earlier, and in these patches items did not have identification codes. blizzard couldn't prove these items were different from each other, so they couldn't delete them. they fixed this in 1.10 and items now have id codes, which is why everything duped in this patch has a risk of poofing.
