truthfully if you love beer, you recognize what each nationality brings to the beer table and that none can be best. I like to consider myself a connoisseur, and at the same time i drink a shitload of coors lite. its just i like different beers for different occasions, cuz after 3 or 4, they all taste the same. thats right, your german super dark ale is gonna taste just like a foty of OEHG. (thats a 40 of old english high gravity malt liquor). And damn it tastes like shit.
what it usually comes down to for me is, how much of this beer am i going to poop out tomorrow instead of piss out tonite.
and then there's bud light's drinkability. i actually think BL sucks, but the term drinkability is a good term to describe a beer. Its like if im golfing and its 90 degrees out, im having a lite tasty beer or something. But if it's overcast, i need me a breakfast beer that gets me drunk and has some carbs to it and tastes yummy. You just can't enjoy the good stuff when its hot out as much as the shitty stuff and vice versa.
unless you ONLY drink dark or micros, then you're just a beer snob. that's waaaaaay lamer than being a beer connoisseur like me. I lol at the guy in my men's club who drinks Moose Drool ( a nice amber ale micro from the area) every fucking day and drinks nothing else. His character alone makes him a douche, but the fact all he ever drinks is one type of beer just adds to it.
But all that said, damn germany makes a fine brew. Or two fine brews even.
On the other hand, what I can't stand is fruity shit in my beer. Go drink a fuggin wine cooler if you want fruity shit.

actually german beer is mostly pilsner. so "normal" beer as you american would prolly call it, dunno if you know the different kinds of brew. sometimes i love wheat beer too, very very rarely dark beer. malt beer (non-alcoholic) is nice too sometimes, loved it as a kid
for after sports for instance i DO LOVE to have a pilsner-sprite mix tho, 50/50. so refreshing
