i always am with her and on the phone with her for like 5 hours a night man. I try my very best to make her life somewhat pleasant.

Happiness is what you make it but being happy is a lot easier when you have someone that is there for you.
Stay with her bro.
I had the exact same situation (Aside from the Grandma) with my Ex so I know how it goes.
