Anyone in the states have recommendations on the internet and/or television? So far, Dish Network has the cheapest television (which is annoying because we already have a Direct TV dish on the roof) and Charter has the cheapest DSL at $19.99 a month...but they want friggen $49.99 to "start" our service by plugging in the modem and installing security software on our computers...oh and flipping a switch outside the house - crap, right? Argh. I always see those commercials about bundling services through like ATT and Comcast, but those seem to be the most expensive plans. Any suggestions? I'm starting to think about getting ATT DSL with phone...we don't need a home phone, but it appears to be cheaper to have the phone with internet instead of internet alone.
GAH, this sucks. We really wanted Verizon but they don't provide TV/internet/phone to our new home town yet. Lame.
Not Roy,
I use Comcast for Digital Cable, and pay way too much. For my DSL, I use AT&T (formerly SBC) and have a pretty decent deal. I think I pay 19-21 monthly for DSL. I also have a separate phone line for my home office, adding about 20 to the cost in the end.
As far as bundling goes, I intend to investigatge AT&T's combo packages for cable and internet, which I believe is called "U-Verse". My understanding is that it is aggressively priced, but has somewhat limited availability in our area.
Check with the local Chamber of Commerce. You may find a smokin' internet deal in your area.
