I do see where your coming from about the ES.
It is quite a "sticky wicket." In my case, I can't take screen shots with diablo II open.
I have to be in window mode, and I don't duel in window mode. 
Secondly, about the shields.
Someone may want to place jewels in a 4 socketed mono for dueling against a certain element.
For example, a couple raven scrabs and such in a JMOM, keeping the cold res below 100%, it could be gm? this is true.... its a tough call but if anyones using a monarach with 4 ravens in it.. well um i dont think they gota chance neways.. im not limits the jewels in the set itself... i for instance stacked lite and cold res b/c for pubing id use h-spurs to tank fb'rs..
so in essence if u wanted that sorta build u could do it in the tals set itself...
im unsure where to go on a lota these points
will be thinking a on more on it.
