Err since I just upgraded an assload of shafts, I was thinking about hosting a GM melee tournament to sort of give back to the melee community. First place would be a 24XX shaft, second place would be a 2390 shaft, third and fourth would get each get a 132/40+ gc. I'd also probably give out some other stuff to top 8 depending on turnout and maybe increase prizes for second-fourth place.
It would be a big thing with round robin/cut to top-8 elimination and would have an entry free. If I hosted this how many people do you think would be interested? I'm not looking to make a profit but I mean I don't want to just be giving away godly shafts and gear either lol. The more people show up, the lower the entry fee will be. The prize pool will have an equal or greater fg value than what I recieve in entry fees obviously.

TBCH i have no problem paying to play in a tourney. i think its a great way for ppl to really work hard on there chars. not to say they dont now but its jsut more insentive imo. only becuz if u have to pay to get into a tourney u always wanna do the best and what not. i also agree with steve tho that ppl dont really wanna pay cuz they'd much rather keep their fg so they can improve their chars, free payouts are always nice, and its more fun when yur not really losing n e thing. So id play in it yes but im not sure if u'd get as big of a turn out as you'd hope for imo
