If it ends up still being a problem with the cpu overheating you might need to get a liquid cooling system in there. There are other possibilities though.

By the way was there any white stuff on the bottom of the heat sink?

Get the CPU compound from some computer shop. It really makes a huge difference.

Didn't you tell him to clean it off? That shit can go bad or dissipate or w/e the hell happens to it. My CPU was overheating so I cleaned off what was left of the old stuff and put some new compound on there. Hasn't overheated sence.

Told him to clean the fan not the heat sink. It doesn't really go bad or anything like that, even when it's dry as fuck it still works properly.

Well, I put new shit on there and it fixed my overheating problem. Worth a try. B)
