and this is how gravity affects things at a distance
if this wasnt true , the gravity from the sun wouldnt reach us
the universe doesnt become smaller tho
"space " is seperate from " the universe "
imagine u have a ballon , only slightly blown up
and u use a felt tip pen, and put 2 dots on it , say 2 cm apart
now we blow up the ballon
the 2 pionts " move " away from each other
this is the universe expanding
there is no more or less "space"
no more or less " ballon"
yet the "distance" between 2 pionts increases as we blow up the ballon
No but if what you bolded yourself was not true, there is no point in bolding it or even having that in the analogy. What you previously bolded contradicts what you just said as you can not fold a single part of space in the aspect of bringing four corners of space together without moving the whole universe slightly towards that mass. And that balloon analogy I don't quite understand because if you actually do that with a balloon you can see that it is not that they are moving away from eachother it's that everything just gets bigger, the dots AND the space between them. If that was actually how it was then the Earth would be growing at a constant rate, and so would everything on it, around it.
