i started with command line pcs. all direct dos commands. if i wanted to automate my pc i would create batch files using edlin, and then make ansi graphics menus.
i was way ahead of my time :P

i had one of the first apple computers in like 1980. me and my room mate were in a band and we used to make stupid graphics for the band programming in basic.
it really wasnt much differnt than a pc at that time.
they both were command line driven computers. man that thing was expensive too. lol i was givien my first 8088 that apple was hella expensive. wish i still had it. i bet its worth something as a collectors item now

the only thing microsoft did was the computer in every home "act" (ill say..) which made shit happen

other than that everything they did is pretty much stolen from someone else

and ironically their windows 95 "computer in every home" had a shit load of keyloggers and backdoors so the windows programmers could steal w/e the fuck they wanted

so i dono if thats good either

yeah, they have always been good end user workstations, the geeks didnt like them that much because you couldnt do much to them on your own. we liked tweaking pcs... they were also expensive proprietary and had way less software to choose from. i love a big bad mac graphics workstation, but i was all into programming and tweaking the disk operatin system back then prolly just a generational thing. thats what kicked ass back then, now you have tons of choices.

but you're a tech guy why do you say mac & pc you know for a fact they have almost no difference and never have had any...

its windows vs OS X..... the hardware has nothing to do with anything, if you buy top of the line PC hardware it's going to be as expensive as a mac & its going to be the same shit, apple just uses the good shit

operating system is really the only difference

/my only pet peeve
