It has nothing to do with whether society can handle the truth or not. How would society handle the truth as opposed to not handling it? Both would result in the same thing, either way that lie is the foundation of peace and if you expose it the world will end and that makes you responsible.

Even in the movie in the end there was no peace just a goal the war stopped between nations but it did not stop inside itself
it did not stop racism it just stopped a nuclear fight even tho they got a false sense of peace something else would happen to destroy it to rid of it to satrt
