I don't wish to insult your faith, and don't take it the wrong way but you make the implication that the attempt to figure something out leads to disappointment. Is that to say you would prefer to think you know what's going on rather than to know you know? I mean that is the fundamentals of Christianity, that's what faith is all about.

You can have faith and still put this universe to the test. You never know, it could lead to the discovery of a God, then you would have irrefutable evidence instead of a book that says he exists. It would also bring humanity closer to him.

having ppl drawn to god due to proof defeats the purpose of "faith"
and dnt worry i dnt take offense to ppl's inputs/opinions :P
i however do like science and love discovery- physics and math are my strong points- however u cannot combine those with religion to figure out "god"

But faith is based on thinking you know something when in fact you do not.

faith is sumthn u will feel when u know there is God. may be arrogant on both are parts to argue either way on that, but will get us nowhere.
and if humanity had proof of a god- some would turn against him for the reasons in which y they dnt believe there is one (y do all bad things happen, y do bad things happen to good ppl etc....)
