my dad retired from united. i fly on companion passes and so am always considered standby, even if i have been prebooked so i ALWAYS, EVERY TIME get pulled out of line and get the once over. the security thing is a pain, but i like that better than some crazy motherfucker jumping up screaming "allah is great, there is no other god than god", and blowing up the plane or something. lol
A couple years back I flew to Oregon to visit. I packed normal size containers of toothpaste and bodywash. They said I wasn't allowed to pack them in my carry-on so I was like whatever, I'll just go ahead and check my luggage then so I didn't have to deal with the rediculousness of not being able to pack that shit. They ended up losing my luggage, and I didn't get it back for 2 days. Long story short. Fuck security. I feel like they'd save more time and money if they just had an officer ride on your flights. Also surprised they don't cover the plane in surveillance cameras or some shit.
