You certainly pay for quality.
MS makes 100 million more per year in subscription fees alone, than Sony has made over the entire life span of the PSN. Yes, PS3 has only been out a couple years but XBL numbers didn't even shake with it's release and continue to climb today.
These numbers go beyond sheer pay-to-play fees, they indicate that MS has created a product that is quality-assured enough to out-perform it's subscription-less competitor. If that doesn't speak volumes about XBL, I don't know what does.
Your facts fall on def ears of PS fanatics. I tried to have legit debates with reece and josh over it, but it is to no avail, as with all PS fans.
I have both a ps3 and xbox. This is what i tell everyone:
If you want a pure GAMING experience, you roll with the 360. It has more games, better games, and a bigger player base with a better online experience(xbl).
If you want a pure ENTERTAINMENT system, you go with a ps3. It has free online play and can play blue-ray movies.
