I studied a bit for you

ok so if i m looking to whats gonna be perfect up of a hoz, I look up the base def of zakarum shield and its gonna vary between the mindef (1+(ed/100) and maxdef (1+(ed/100)

in that case if we have a 200% ed hoz not upped

def can vary from 148(1+2) = 444 to 168(1+2) = 504

And uped, it can vary from

169(1+2) = 507 to 579

I think there are some base items that have the chance to lower defence after the upgrade

I mean if the base item's expectional version's max def is higher than the min def of the elite version, you can get screwed bad

i.e Grim helm Vs Bone Visage
