you could also check your bios settings in setup when the comp first boots... might still be using the onboard with the ati driver... set it to auto (depending on brand of computer) if it allows it

The error I'm getting is "video driver name" stopped working and you should reboot to restore video settings.

Video card is a visiontek ati radeon hd4650 pcie

The thing is.. it works fine until I load a game.

Then in game it works fine for 5-30 minutes then I get that error.

I disabled the onboard video and set the ati card to default display in bios.

All drivers, etc are up to date.

The fucking video card shipped with a free trial of wow so Idk how I could be having so many troubles with it.

I've come to 3 different conclusions of what it might be.

1) Faulty card ( keep coming back to this )

2) Registry error ( but I've cleaned and repaired any registry errors )

3) Bad drivers or incompatible. ( but I've tried newer and older drivers for it)

That was first thing I did but thanks for suggestion.

The game also runs at the desktop resolution / refresh rate so I can't see that being a problem.

try changing the desktop to 16 bit and see if that helps?

that's a horrible card for gaming, if your resolution isn't on a very low end you're going to have problems with it regardless, but imo i'd re-install the card with the drivers and everything.

there is a reason apparently in the registry... i dunno if this would work but its offered as a solution and i dont know if its freeware or if they just tell you they found a problem and want you to buy the program to fix it...
