optiarc sounds like a cd rom driver.
go to device manager click sound check what it says
high definition audio device.. etc.. and right click and check driver tab and see what it says for driver

edit: check if u have sound MUTED LOL

idk which would be my soundcard?

conexant hd-audio smartamc hd2 is my driver o.O

and ya nothing.

and no its not muted, theres no icon at the bottom at all

try control panel> sounds> see what is set to default? test it all

you might wanna just take it into a best buy .. the geek squad can help

e/ like theres no freaking sound card visible..
maybe uve been installing wrong drivers..
try device manager > sound> and take a s/s
