Zero Tolerance for drugs...As in 100% unacceptable for no reason.
Alcohol...It depends on who's in charge if you can drink @ 18, but usually on land it's 21 just because you drive to clubs and such and that leads to drunk driving and getting 1 DUI or DWI can get you kicked out.

But if you're on a ship or overseas, you can probably drink at w/e age.

Just basically to ensure safety and stuff because if you smoke weed right before you go on a ship, you can obviously smggle it in, get high in the middle of the ocean and screw something up and cause a lot of damage everywhere.
It's just like how the government doesn't allow drug use.

You get a waiver etc, but if you ever get caught with anything you're out right away AND you get raped by the civilian court rofl.
So double whammy because you wanted to do a drug in the military..No thanks.
