According to blizz there is never enough but from all I have read 250ish is good 550 is much better and 750ish is optimal after that you start to get diminishing returns, but ask Glenn he is the expert

best mf i ever did was whn i had 100mf or a little over that and i found tons of stufff that i never found when i had more than 300,400 and 500 mf on so i never went passed 110 if i could help it and chaos run after chaos runs yielded super mf's for me

Kill speed is far more important than MF. But you should probably aim for ~300 MF.
