I suppose that is the blatant "truth" of it, yes.

A think that a being supposedly so powerful that was trying to make us aware of his presence would be able to a better job than this.

It is in human nature to seek some kind of higher power, because we believe it can answer the questions that haunt us. Blind faith is an extremely dangerous thing, and is the cause of humanity's ignorance. You can take the easy way and say god did it or you can put the universe to the test.

I find it strange that most Christians believe the universe was made as an experiment. If this was true, it's reeks of incompetence and a massive lack of foresight.

"Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe:, are challenged by this point of pale light. Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves."
"Those afraid of the universe as it really is, those who pretend to nonexistent knowledge and envision a Cosmos centered on human beings will prefer the fleeting comforts of superstition. They avoid rather than confront the world. But those with the courage to explore the weave and structure of the Cosmos, even where it differs profoundly from their wishes and prejudices, will penetrate its deepest mysteries."

To quote Sagan.

You may think I'm "preaching" to you at the moment, but I truly am not. I only ask that you confront this with an open mind.
