when you find the items you can keep or share it with the other when you are friendly =p
the other stuf will be bought from the npcs
when you die, you can start from lvl1 again ofc, but with ench its easy to reach lvl9 and hard to die =p

Indeed its hard to die, but sorc are kind of sucky in the begin, low life and so on.
