Egy nőnek van egy közeli férfi barátja. Ez azt jelenti, hogy talán érez iránta valamit, azért van vele annyit. Szigorúan barátként tekint rá. Ez mindig úgy kezdődik, hogy ,,nagyszerű vagy, de nem tudok rád úgy nézni ahogy szeretnéd". Ez egy durva hasonlatban egyenértékű az esettel mikor egy ember elmegy munka interjúra és a cég azt mondja: - Jó a referenciád, megvan minden képesítésed amit igénylünk, de nem fogunk alkalmazni". De talán, felhasználjuk a referenciád a többi lehetséges alkamazottnak alapként, mintának. Valószínűleg felbérlünk majd egy sokkal képzetlenebb, és talán alkoholistát. Ha nem felel meg, mást alkalmazunk, de még mindig nem téged. Igazából, sose fogunk alkalmazni. De időről időre felhívunk, hogy elmondhassuk épp kit alkalmaztunk.
