I had a roommate in college that was super anal about keeping his room clean. He would use a handheld vacuum and go around on his hands and knees just to make sure everything was clean. So, one day I walked by his room and threw a penny in there. I waited a few days and then did it again. Soon, I was doing it every day and I kept it up for a few weeks. I walked by his room while he was cleaning one day and he saw a penny. He picked it up and yelled "OH MY GOD." and threw it into the trash can as hard as he could. He had no idea what was going on. He never used cash so he had no idea where they were coming from. The next day he found another and colored it in with a sharpie and put it in a cup so he would be able to tell if it was just the same pennies falling on the ground. After he had a good collection going, I started coloring in the pennies before I threw them. One night I heard him on the phone with his Mom and he yelled "HOW THE FUCK DO THEY GET OUT OF THE CUP." Well I guess his Mom convinced him that he had to be doing it while in his sleep so he asked me to start keeping the pennies in my room. That's when I stopped throwing pennies. Now he thinks he went through a phase of his life where he would sleep walk and somehow find pennies and do something with them on the ground and not pick them up before going back to bed.
