I'm sorry so announce that, but my expectations seem to have gotten true. AMD will not release the Next-Gen FX-Series CPUs in Q3. Instead like we already knew before, AMD will produce the chips in Q3 and these will be available for sale later this year in Q4.
Please don't take that as 100%, but I've heard they will launch on October 17th. This wouldn't be much of a delay anyways.
AMD will supposedly launch 4 models, which would be the FX-8350 flagship (to compare with current FX-8150), then the second 8-Core FX-8320 (to compare with the FX-8120), as a 6-Core the FX-6300 (to compare with the FX-6200) and lastly the FX-4320 (to compare with the FX-4170).
Great news for the enthusiasts is that the Next-Gen FX-Series Piledriver CPUs will still use the AM3+ Socket.
Unfortunately the CPUs itself will not be manufactured at the 28nm or 22nm process, instead AMD will stick with the 32nm process like on the current FX-Series processors.
Piledriver supposedly should support DDR3-1866 Memory natively just like Bulldozer.
AMD will also use a new Turbo Core technology similar to Intel's Turbo Boost.
Rumours say Piledriver will be affordable and will not be priced too high. The CPUs are expected to have an increase in performance of about 10% and a decrease in power consumption of 10-24%.
