Obviously answering a big question like that is impossible.. but that isn't fun. I would go so far as to say yes, Starcraft is the last great RTS. I think the RTS genre is just not what people get excited about these days, RTS games require patience, deep thought, speed, a bit of a gamble and so much more. It is frustrating and personal in ways other games are not. When someone absolutely dominates you, you don't just feel like you lost a game you feel like you were outsmarted and in some ways physically beaten. The game takes time to get going. You shouldn't just start with a running economy and units to attack with. You need to develop that economy, build those units and control them! The game by its very nature stresses and strains you to challenge you. I fear most people these days would rather have the game play half of itself for you. They want explosions early and often. They want rewards for those explosions. A lot of gamers these days don't want to pay for their games. They want to be tricked into paying for them over time. That is why games that feature easily understood scenarios like people shooting guns at each other, kicking and punching, playing a sport we already know or are controlling one hero like character that we can follow easily are THE games of today. What developer is taking a stab at the relic that is RTS? Not many. And of those they are not rewarded. We see countless MOBAs being attempted but only one Grey Goo.
Maybe some futuristic super society living on Mars will once again glorify the RTS genre but for now you have Starcraft. After that it is a barren waste land of dead RTS games.
