You're right, I've played down in 1300s quite alot and people there are SO nice. I think that's the only bracket people realize they're not good players and are willing to just have fun while listening to advice and being friendly. It's funny that once you get to 1500 this isn't true anymore, because those people are still god awful yet somehow have managed to get a huge ego.
Btw, by playing that one Dota2 game the OP basically ruined his ability to smurf. If we assume he started at 1500 MMR, going 44-0 in that game probably gave him like +200 MMR. If he continues to own games a few more times he'll be in the 1900 equivalent Dota bracket within like 5 games, and then he'll be playing with all the 1000+ win people. I'm not sure exactly how Dota2 MMR system works because it's all private, but it's definitely more adaptable and clever than HoN's.
u cant really generalize it like that, i've had game where rands played nice support or where people actually pick proper instead of all going carry or calling mid
in hon u can go mid and it's easier since u have courier, in dota if u go and no1 buys one and other team has it then u r fucked
anyway my rule for hon is still same, go mid woods or solo lane. laning with a rand is nono
