1) No, I'll never come back. The direction S2 has taken the game really shows they don't give a shit about anything but making a few dollars while they can. Sure, Valve and Icefrog try to profit off of Dota2 as well, every business strive should profit off of their product. However, you can just see Valve has a passion/dedication to making Dota2 great that S2 doesn't share for HoN. HoN has like 2 developers and use community members to handle alot of their support issues like accounts bans. They also don't really put any time or effort into anything but making new heroes and alt avatars they can sell. It's a disgusting company with a poor product, and I don't want any part of it. I'm just glad I made some money from the game instead of having given S2 my $30 for no monetary return.
2) It's hard to say since they changed the game so much by releasing their new imbalanced heroes that didn't really fit the flavor or equilibrium of the game at all. Because of this, I went through lots of phases of having favorite heroes. I was always fond of Madman/Hag, but also played Drunken a ton before he was nerfed. edit: How could I forget, I also absolutely loved SoulStealer in HoN before he fell completely out of the metagame.
3) Once again hard to say, especially since I haven't played in a long time so have no real knowledge of current heroes. Back when I played a Glacius would always be a solid pick if you were planning on being aggressive, and Nymph would be a great defensive partner.
