no cour at start is how the game is meant to be played. it's dumb to give a team not smart enough to invest 200 gold at the start for courier an advantage for no reason
also the first few games are dota are loleasy because everyone is awful. just go mid with gyrocopter, farm shadowblade -> rapier, fountaincamp their team for 100+ kills, rinse and repeat until you're in higher bracket
in theory its doable but there is no incentive for me to do that
courier is 150 tho in dota2? i went mid and got my own courier only to see it delivering 1xmana and 1xhealth pot to long lane
when i wanted to get bottle the courier was already halfway through which really turned me off plus how retarded is autosharing it?
even in hon i sometimes get my own courier just so i can use it whenever i want and not lose my items because of some noob
i play games in hon varying from 1500-1800 and i can tell u ppl would in most cases get courier if there wasn't one
they also get 2x wards at start to block camp+ward rune and even the thrashest scrub can somewhat lasthit and farm in hon
i went on lane 3 times in dota and the guy i was laning with kept autoattacking
the mm system sucks in dota and i like hon one more plus in hon u can play verified game without having tryhards or smurfs or random noobs in lower brackets
there should be a better system in both games tho but it's not that easy to implement a good one however some of the things that should count for it would be
-kdr (i know it's overrated but still it would be a big filter towards feeders)
-last hitting and gpm
-supporting with wards/ganking and assisting
-general map awarness knowing when to fight/tp who to sutn etc... (this is kinda impossible to implement tho)
if all these would be taken into consideration it would be easier to filter bads from the rest and not have to play like 50 games or w/e to get to a decent bracket
also based on these if people do good they should be getting more rating or points or whatever compared to say somebody who feeds or a support that doesn't ward and has very few assists
