I did the merc PK scam so many times. Just convinced some guy to drop all his items out of town while I stood in town and my merc subtly waited on other side of the gate between town and blood moor. Once all their items were dropped I hostiled them, merc killed, and I took everything. Unfortunately, mainly poor people fell for this trick so didn't get anything too great.

i used to imbue wirts leg in normal and then go to hell
item would turn red and have rare stats

then create game "offer bugged wirts leg"
made some nice items off it rofl

back in 1.08 i had a burizon and 1v5'd people

also way back before they had the delay with the check trade button, you could swap out your item real quick and trade them nothing for their item

more recently (2 years ago) i spent 8k fg on a melee sorc and stomped scrubs

i remember back in 1.10 ppl weren't very rich and items like enigma, tals set, botd were worth way more and everyone would drool over having a full tals sorc or a pally with hoto + enigma

so, i used to MF alot and would wait until i found unid sigons armor. would then go into a game called "o unid tals arm" in hell mode. the sigons armor looked just like tals when unid, so kids would trade me nice things for it thinking they could finally complete their tals set

one time i scammed some guy then logged onto a norm char i was trying to level up to 40 before going to nm, and saw the same guy i scammed in a game called "free sigons armor". apparently he id'd it and got super pissed and decided to give it away for free cuz it wasn't tals LOL

best thing i did was when i bought a full hardcore hammerdin setup and died from a lag spike 5 minutes after i put the last item on

I used to play Hardcore and die all the time.

Met a guy in D2 who I did 100's of uber organ runs with (would buy key sets for 3fg each, sell organs for 20fg, would only take 10 minutes per run), who eventually made a keylogger.
I didn't take part in it, but he shared his profits with me
