what do you think goes into the algorithm?
i played at 1650 for month and it seemed i am just too bad to get higher.
now i made a new account "greenpfanner" and have 19 wins/ 2 lose and i am above 1650 already. like i am matched up against low level people while my other account in a lower mmr bracket is matched against better people.

there are more shitty people to play against, so your rating will increase

truthfully I think it has more to do with the sudden influx of new people due to the free to play than anything else.

new account = non verified games = many many new players
old account = verified games = "normal" players
