I'd say 1800 is where you get into the better players.

Most pubs stick around 1600-1700 level.
You want to be at least 1750+.
You can easily reach this solo que if you're a decent player.
Once you get to about 1750, you usually want to que w/ a group/team for easier/well played games.
1800+ player is an above average player.
1900+ player is a well skilled player.
Just my opinion at least ^
