DLed patch, but right after the patching starts, game crashes every time.

okay so i've found a fix to the update crash issue i've been having ( i'm sure atleast some other people here been having it aswell )

notice i have windows XP and if you dont i'm not sure this fix is going to work

now when you try to update hon you will just crash when it's like 1% from getting updated and it doesnt matter how many times you try to patch it, so here is the fix

step 1 right click your heroes of newerth icon
step 2 click properties
step 3 click compatibility
step 4 enable run this program in compatibility mode for
step 5 select windows 98
step 6 click ok
step 7 start hon
step 8 patch hon it will now work properly
step 9 now after it's patched you run it like normal or it might cause some lag issues ( but this is probably just because my computer is shit )

after you patched the game, restart and take away the windows 98 because this might slow the game down
