hey i might found a soulution to this by myself

try rightclick>properties and try to run it in windows 98

it allowed me to patch it all though it took my cpu waaaay longer time to start it / patch it but in the end i didn't get a crash

just reinstall hon, worked for me.

occasionally in the past when i had to update and this happened, i reinstalled and it worked every time

still get this shit sometimes myself but i just restart game and repatch it
