pros and cons

behemoth pros
long range stun from level 1 and being able to make excellent blocks
can instantly jump in with a good ultimate
can stunlock a target(s) for quite a long time if everything is used with perfect sync

magmus pros
a solid 2.05 second stun on every level
a more versitile/situational skillbuild
quite high surviveability with steambath/pk/surge combo
easier to land good stuns
easier to farm that pk with
easier to afford everything incase you get a early pk since if you feel like you'll get a early pk you'll invest into stats which you cant rly do on behe

behemoth cons
1 missplaced fissure during teamfights/laning phase can really screw your team up
only really got 2 different skillbuilds
the low surviveability means you kinda needs to stay back in teamfights and is nearly impossible to get a decent ultimate off without pk/invis rune

magmus cons
low range on stun on lower levels
also hard to line up a good ultimate without pk but imo much easier than behemoth at least if you play with some friend/friends

hmm dont think i missed something but for me the choice is quite obvious i'd say magmus anyday not to mention imo magmus is much more fun to play than behe

i like both of them but I also prefer magmus. mainly because of steambath which can save your life kinda often. I also like that you can stun+escape at the same time with lava surge and the cd on his stun is shorter aswell.

I agree with all you said but IMO Behemoth is better in the current metagame. His ult is alot better with the instant damage + stun, and he also has 3 stuns unlike Magmus who only has one.

Most importantly though, Behemoth is much more viable at the low levels, and since Mag/Behe are almost always run in a trilane / roaming strategy, they're bound to be low level for quite a while. This gives Behemoth alot more utility early on. The only problem is, with Behe, you need to have a really good player on him to reach his maximum potential.

Like Smack said, you rly need a good player on behe if you want him in lineup, a bad player will more often fail fissures, which can be fatal.

Magmus is more likely for the not so good players, i prefer playing magmus over behe. like gad said he is easier to land stuns with and got the steambath.

the ultis:
without pk behe got far the best ulti, because you cant interrupt him.

im playin in the lower-mid bracket, where alot of magmuses fucks the ulti up.

all in all i would say they are situational. :)

this is just my opinion, remember im low-mid skilled :))

Yeah definitely, magmus > behe for most public games if he's being played by most public players. I've torn up plenty of pubs on a behemoth though with perfect fissures and ultis. IMO, the higher the skill level of the player, the better of they are going behe over mag

If you watch these IHL games, half of the time there's a really bad player on those 2 heroes

http://replays.heroesofnewerth.com/match_replay.php?mid=35833079

in fact their poor play makes or breaks the game (and so does this pyro missing stuns)

here's the FPVOD

http://www.justin.tv/chidorie/b/283432405

game starts at 1:18:00

yoda gets mad at 1:31:00

pro mag stun 1:36:15 (some good mad for the next 2 minutes)

1:39:35 last team fight before they rage concede (next 7 minutes yoda cries about how bad mag was)
