Hi friends.
Today I played a few games and noticed that if one was to watch a replay of my skill level 4 months ago and consequently watched another replay of my play as of recent, they would think that someone else was surely playing on my account. I no longer find this game fun, nor do I have the motivation to improve and compete. I've spent months, maybe even years of my life on DotA/HoN. I made money, I had great fun and I got to play with some of the top players in the world. But, as breakyCPK would say, "at what cost?".
Don't get me wrong, I don't consider myself superior to any of you guys and I'm not here to brag. That being said, I do infact have an IQ of "ova 150" and I do go to arguably the #1 school in Europe. Accordingly, recently I've realized that I have alot more to offer this world and myself than sitting behind a computer for hours on end mashing buttons in the hopes of getting my turtle hero and item that allows me to portal myself into the midst of the enemy team and sing to them to make then shut up. I'll probably still troll JSP once in a while if I'm feeling bored, and I might log on to refund some people for unfinished jobs. Nevertheless this will probably the last post I make about myself on these forums, so I figured I might as well answer some common questions for those of you who are interested:
Q: Are you really a gangster who benches 250 lbs and throws people out of windows on a daily basis? If you haven't figured that out yet, no. The reason I posted the way I did was due to a post I made on the HoN replay forums a long time ago. I posted a replay of me playing gauntlet and stomping some 1500 game in a belligerent and exaggerative manner. People seemed to either love it or really hate it. Either way, it was trolling at its finest and I kept posting that way ever since.
Q: Are you `BadKarma? Can you still post on HoN forums?Yes and kind of. For those of you who don't know, I made a bunch of trolling and entertaining replay posts under the account name of `BadKarma on the HoN forums. I acquired a large fanbase, with people donating, making accounts in my name, and begging me to boost their accounts for $$. Everything went well until I unknowingly stomped an account that I can only assume was a moderator/a friend of a moderator, since he talked so much trash about getting me banned which I naturally didn't believe. However, ever since that game I got suspended on the forums for no justifiable reason, which eventually led to a permaban. I can still post under other accounts I have access to obviously, but I'm not going to waste my time doing it.
What's the best time you've had playing HoN.Probably pubstomping back in beta with a good friend of mine. We made new accounts like every day by sending ourselves beta keys, and then proceeded to stomp pub games for hours on end. I specifically remember one brazilian deadwood guy getting raped by my bubbles and then saying "just suck my puto mierda" and ragequitting. Laughed for about 5 minutes straight. I also really enjoyed late night pubstomps with unZ and co. where I was fucked up and tired and found everything hilarious. For example, one time some guy on my team bought MoM / phase boots / SnY on wildsoul and just ran around with 522 MS all game while yelling "HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" on vent. Was good times. I have alot more stories but I doubt anyone is interested
What advice would you give the average HoN player? If you want to get better, be prepared to learn from your mistakes and play with/get stomped by people better than you. Watch your replays of your LOSSES to see what you did wrong, and what your enemies did right. If you're looking to form a competitive team, don't assign players roles. Instead, assign them heroes to play. Whenever you run a lineup, have in mind beforehand what player plays what hero. Sure, most of the time some guy will play support and some guy will play carry. But if your support player is an amazing SW whereas your carry plays a great Glacius, then don't be afraid to switch roles for that lineup.
On the other hand, remember not to take this too seriously. It's just a game after all. No amount of money you ever make from HoN will be able to match the money made by a real job in real life. And no amount of happiness you get from winning/efame will match happiness you can find in life from just putting yourself out there and enjoying the company of others face to face.
Shoutouts:
Pirat: It was great playing with you for the short time I actually knew you. You're a great player, a funny guy, and one of the most entertaining people I've been in a vent channel with. Sorry I ragequit that last game, and sorry some of our games didn't work out. You and Fntastic are both amazing players and I wish you all the best
dude150: Shame we didn't get to stomp more. You're a great player and an awesome lane partner. Best of luck in school/HoN, I'm sure you'll go pretty far in both.
Peace bros,
Smacktrickz
TL;DR: I'm out. Thanks to all my friends for the good times. And to all the haters: you're going to have to find someone else to be jealous of/mad at. Sorry. If you really need to contact me, pm me or email smacktrickz@gmail.com. L8rs
