I wouldn't say you have a better sense of last hitting than I do, I was leading in CS by far in the Gunblade game and had a little under double in the elephant matchup. You leveled hook'em at level one and that by the way you built your items I could tell you were either trying to go push or play creep score. You're not a bad player, and did better than I honestly expected, but there is far more to HoN than 1v1ing mid.
After the games you said "personally I thought both of those games were stupid", but you picked a 1v1 Elephant CS matchup, of course that was dumb. You not being familiar with Gunblade is a handicap, but he is still a hero in HoN (and honestly a pretty basic one) so that seemed like a pretty fair 1v1 hero. You could have selected Soulstealer for your choice if you were very intent on playing that.
You last hitted pretty well, but were completely forced out of the lane in the Gunblade game for a minute or two before I dove the tower and killed you. In the elephant game I only had a few base damage advantage over you but if you think my items were better than yours it was a conscious decision to buy stat ones over a shield.
Regardless, they were fun games and I hope I helped you in some way, but I was honestly a bit unimpressed that none of the gg's or gl hf's were returned. A little courtesy goes a long way!
If you'd like to rematch sometime with different heroes PM me on here, there's no telling what HoN account I'll be on otherwise.
You misinterpreted what I had said. I said "my sense of last hitting was better" in terms of Cthuluphant meaning that I was more comfortable with him than you.
Obviously the game is more than 1v1 and it's unlikely that I would ever beat a legitimate 1800 at it. Why? Well the competition I play in my bracket never calls for me to be as good as you in micro management. You brought up a sports analogy. It would be like someone who has D1 talent but chose a D2 school for scholarships/other reasons wouldn't be as polished of a product as if he went to a D1 school because of the coaching and competition he'd consistently play.
I regularly beat mids in last hitting, keeping them out of the lane, pushing before a rune comes up, and many other things that aren't recorded in stats. Honestly if I were allowed to mid every game and I had even the tiniest bit of competence I am extremely doubtful that I would be a 1500 player. When I queued with 2 support players who wouldn't feed I was 13-0 I won every single mid lane. Then I nose dived solo queueing again. I just don't have the ability to corral people. It's so often that people have zero patience or give up so easily. Another common problem I have is people think I'm playing favorites mid. Both lanes will be losing and whichever lane I don't gank they constantly whine and feed making it impossible to come back.
