Bloop stated it all pretty well. One thing to realize is you're going to have some games where you completely dominate, get 400+ gpm, get like a 10:2 score, and still lose. That's normal and sometimes will happen, just how sometimes you might lose mid horribly and get carried by your sidelanes. If after 200-300 games though you aren't moving up significantly in MMR, then there's something wrong with you. It's either your attitude or your play, but more likely than not it's both. Watch some replays and see what you did wrong. Don't focus on what your teammates did wrong because you can't control that.

Let's take a look at an example from one of my games:

http://dotabuff.com/matches/285965085

Yeah, my team died way to much to obvious ganks, but I think I still could have won. The problem is I went orchid before BKB then focused too much on pickoffs when they were 5-manning. Against such a magic-heavy team I should have rushed BKB and tried to teamfight since all the enemies were doing is pubtraining. I also should have split push more instead of roaming the map looking for kills, so I could have better farm.

Correct.

I've had games where i'm 400+ GPM and i cannot carry, sometimes it's because of my public players not listening to me and sometimes it's based off my decisions and item build up.
Can't always win them all, sometimes having a LITTLE bit of help from your teammates really benefits you some games (usually around 1750+ you need a bit of help w/ teammates) although i still primarily rely on myself.

What're you playing nowadays, smack?

I was considering the switch to Dota 2 more actively than i do HoN but idk.
I don't have any friends on there. I used to be friends w/ ixmike88 on Diablo i'm sure i could get in contact w/ him if i wanted to but aside from that no one.

I just love HoN as a whole, the company behind the game might suck massively but the game is just amazing and more fun to play most the time.

Right now I'm not really playing anything, but if I do choose to play it'll always be Dota2. I can't really convey the appreciation I have for how pristine that game is through words alone. You have to play a ton and understand the intricacies of how Icefrog has developed the game over the past 10 years to truly appreciate it.

If you want to play sometime, add smacktrix @ steam. I don't play seriously for the most part, so I'm always willing to hop on a smurf and show new people around the game.

This game literally makes me want to take my laptop and throw it across the room as hard as I fucking can.

Every game I win seems like its squeezing blood out of a turnip to get my teammates to follow basic instructions.

The games I lose are sometimes due to my attitude but it is VERY hard to keep calm and be short, simple, and to the point while also effectively getting my teammates to cooperate when needed.

My last game I lost we had 3x level 14 with 350 gpm, a level 12 tank with 300 gpm, and a level 9 support who was doing badly but keeping wards up and always coming for team fights.

The mid was acting superior and condescending to the support play, constantly ragging on them, and it just turned into a bunch of kids arguing who conceded just because they're immature. 25 minutes in all 4 of my allies vote to concede.

Game before that I'm winning mid, I bloodlust and gank twice successfully, put up my own wards, buy my own courier, but both side lanes lose and we get trashed.

It seems like it is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more common for me to lose a game that I'm being patient, I'm trying to be nice and do everything I possibly can to benefit the team, and then there's all these fucksticks who are completely immature/unaware/selfish/ragers/ or any combination of the qualities

Than it is for me to WIN a game that I'm playing poorly or I lose my cool, pretty much 99% of those games I lose.
