What S2 Did Poorly/Wrong.
Honestly, from the technical side, S2 don't seem to have done much wrong throughout this attack.
There were some other issues though.
Firstly, the lack of DDoS protection in the game (when it was released) was a HUGE oversight. It would have dramatically reduced the issues they are currently facing had it been built into the game. Most of the time spent to date has been S2 scrambling to get this protection in place. There is no way to be immune to DDoS, but they could have dealt with most of the attack had they had this protection in place to begin with. Once S2 realised they needed it, they moved rapidly to fix the issue, I can't fault them there.
Secondly, information was EXTREMELY poorly managed. There was no post on the front page. Most people have no idea about the people in the UK who started the attack and most poeple think it's the Indian flag issue. Furthermore, I am writing this thread, not an S2 staff member. They should have been out here educating you all in advance to make sure you knew what was happening and what S2 were doing to fix it.
Lastly, the staff have not been united in their approach to the forums. Some staff have been answering questions. Others not. Some staff are responding professionally, some are answering stupid questions from stupid people in stupid ways.
Overall, S2 just weren't prepared for something like this, and it shows I think they need press department or someone to manage the appearance with this kind of issue.
