that's the difference between expansion and classic. classic is such a small community, when people agree to loot duel, they stay and allow you to loot them because they agreed to it....and if they are bm they get people opening bad tp's n shit on them.

well i dont really care for fg nor do i spent fg for shit in d2, just like really basic gear cuz i prefer to find stuff and gear myself
i would think the game is fun to play as walkthrough tho it just might be harder to set it up considering some of are eu/us timezones schedules etc

i hated pvm. i only leveled enough i could be competitive in duels...and spent huge quantities of fg so i didn't half to mf at all.

made my fg by buying low and selling high (lol actually probably more fg made by duping but w/e)...because i felt my time was better spent doing that than mf'ing...which it was.

Me too, I bought unid annis in bulk and used gambling gimmicks to sell them. Probably made 40k+ from that alone

whats the point in duelling, in most cases whoever has the best gear wins
also there's rules i saw for duells and u have to find games and so on cuz public duels is noobshit nks and 2v1 etc

it might sound lame but chilling over d2 with some music on while doing dungeons and killing stuff trying to find gear was very relaxing for me, still is
even if the stuff i find isn't worth much or even if it's rare items like ik armor or tal armor or coa etc... still fun to see them pop

best gear only wins if your doing melee duels...i hate to stand across from someone and click until one of us see's red...boreing. i rather a competition of who can get the better faster namelock which is more or less what a caster type duel is about...and in that setting a 700 fg character can beat a 200k fg character.

duelling was flawed in diablo from the getgo
and it was even more so IN MY OPINION with the adding of broken runewords- enigma, cta etc

only thing i kinda liked to duell back when i had a barb was melee duels or bvb only
even then tho it was kinda rng in deciding who wins since almost every1 had same shit equipped

Yeah I remember it was really relaxing to manually MF. I would play a hammerdin (lol) and just run andy -> trav -> meph -> chaos -> shenk -> eldritch -> pindle over and over again. Was also pretty fun when I was so poor I only had a shitty geared sorc with no merc and I couldn't run anything in hell except meph and maybe andy. The thrill of finding an arach, hoz, or occy back then was really awesome. Now it's hard to compete because people have like 100 CD keys running a ton of bots on every realm.

I also remember when you could dupe using bone wall + meteor glitch to desync. I was such a noob and only duped a bunch of shitty uniques like Tyrael's. Wish I was smart enough to dupe things like HRs and sell unmades.

I made thousands off d2 .. But I was perm dupeing and not with the shitty server lag dupes.

I think I still have a mule with like 50 matching .06 amulets some random str dex +2 sorc +1 zon piece of shit.
