yea scared money is shit, thats why its rly important to have a good management of ur bankroll, hell i even seen pros doing it wrong
i like to play aggressive in tournaments specifically early stages not bet too much but put pressure on others
im not good at positional poker but in most cases if u got the button and u got a semi decent hand and u r left with bb and sb u usually wanna pressure them
as for early positions u generally wanna have premium hands, as matt said in rounders if its good enough to call and be in the pot it should be good enough to raise too

i got some general knowledge but knowing what to do and actually doing it and applying it is not same thing
poker is awesome tho and i like reading stuff about pros like stu ungar for instance was a nice read like in november last year
and ofc u probably know about andy beal and his challenge on the pros (as well as his conjecture which still is up for grabs for 1mil $. google it if u wanna for fun)

protip: don't apply anything you hear in rounders to real poker

but yeah the pros today are insane. I'm not sure how up to date you are, but the best HU player currently for NLHE is WCGRider, and he's just insane. It's hard to say for sure, but he's probably as close to solving the game as anyone has ever come. His play just seems perfect in so many spots to the point where nobody can profit against him.

was just saying that from rounders cuz its kinda like my playstile in tournaments i like to call cheap and see flops and then try to be agressive
never heard of that guy, i like phil ivey, durrr, daniel negreanu probably my top 3. dont rly like phil hellmuth who thinks hes some god but he gives a good show when he steams
shame they dont make high stakes poker show with gabe&benza it was nice to wach and it was mostly pros there playing against each other with non scared money and high stakes so it was gg

durr, ivey, negreanu are pretty much fish now in the high stakes games. the top internet players just completely crush them. not sure if you saw but Jungleman (probably one of the best online players today) beat durrr in the durrr challenge pretty hard, and durrr just refused to play him anymore.

the game evolves pretty fast, in 2 years there'll probably be new top players

its not just about how much money u make, sure if u keep milking it and r a steady winner then u r gg player
most these players dont play as much these days and i wouldnt blame them if i made some nice cash i'd worry about spending it and enjoying life and free time
i remember in a hsp episode brad booth said he pld 10 or more hours every day for god knows how long (was many months) and others do same they just play play play
its just like anything else how much is enough? depends on person ofc but in theory if u can make a nice living out of ur money and not have to do shit for whole life i'd say u were set
and again andy beal comes to mind, any billionaire can challenge any pro and play him cuz for them its like me and u playing for like 100$, its just peanuts for them but would all seasoned pros play him for a ridiculos amount?
andy's idea was to challenge them for stakes so high that it would take them out of their comfort zone and even tho pros do play each other most would rather not and just milk lowbies (heh kinda like u making alt accounts in hon and dota and raping newbs cuz why not, its a lot easier than playing against matched people)

yeah I can understand lots of the previous pros got kind of lazy and didn't work on their games that much. I'm not sure if they're really all that rich though to be set for life, so idk.

The beal challenge is interesting. I think if it was a reasonable amount (like risking ~5mill overall) lots of the top pros today would take it. They could get a ton of backing from other people and maybe only play like ~1m of their own. I guess once you increase the stakes to 10m+ or something ridiculous most people won't take it because they don't have anywhere near enough buyins to support that kind of game.

yea cant remember how many played him but it was a joint operation i heard that they pulled their money together and they took turns playing him heads up
shame they didnt allow cameras it was probably the biggest cash game ever played and a book was written about it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Professor,_the_Banker,_and_the_Suicide_King
