Few bucks? His rates are 15$/2h or 27$/4h, lets go with the 27 to make it cheap, if he has three customers (every time I tune in he has a full group though) he's making 20.25$/hour, and this is his net income, that's a lot more than most make.
When you look at it from this simplistic point of view, then yes. But let's take into account that he gets no health insurance, no dental insurance, no retirement fund, no free airline tickets, and no bonuses. Then, let's look at the fact that his earning potential is pretty much capped at this supposed $20.25/hr, and that in fact his earning potential decreases as each day goes by because 1) more and more good players willing to boost/coach for cheaper come up (such as Bloodrush) and 2) HoN is dying and eventually people will all switch to Dota2 or LoL, neither of which Testie will ever be qualified to make money from considering how many better players there are.
Also, if you think $20.25 an hour is enough to sustain a comfortable living after taxes and with having to pay for your own doctors and shit, you're seriously mistaken. Nowadays, if you aren't making 6-figures AFTER tax you're not going to be able to live a luxurious and worry-free lifestyle while still having to live in a shack in Africa when you retire. Bottom line: Playing some game in an attempt to make a living is pretty much destined to fail long-term for the vast majority of people.

dota2 among other things needs
- remake vote
-5 man cc vote
-in ap people need forced random when time expires to pick
one more thing it needs, remove minimap click to move heroes
Pretty much all of this is wrong
-Game doesn't count towards stats if someone DCs before FB or has abandoned before 5-mins. If neither of these conditions is true, one team obviously has an advantage and the game should count towards stats and shouldn't be remade.
-Nope, this is a terrible idea. Valve saw that HoN had this but chose not to put it in, and for a good reason. So many games can be turned or can be made into very interesting games by playing on. People give up so easy, and it's very likely all 5 people will give up on a winnable game. Plus, if 3/5 people want to cc and the other 2 won't, the 3 will whine and not play well until game's over anyway.
-I agree they should force random one the GAME timer reaches 0:00. The pick timer reaches 0:00 when there's still 1-min game time, no reason to force a random so early.
I find minimap click kind of useful, but rarely use it. I guess an option to disable it would be OK, since some people may accidentally click minimap at a bad time.
