well the game is pretty good, imagine if there was ny other company who made the game would've been pretty amazing

100% agreed. Sad, really.

I remember HoN beta and most of the times before free to play were amazing. When the hero pool was like 30 heroes and Pestilence was actually a good pick was when this game was the most fun for me. Even after that, solo matchmaking and the pure trolling potential in the game was almost limitless, and I had infinite amounts of fun with it.

I think if after S2 started to get big they started to hire alot more people and invest some of the millions they made after release back into the game, they would seriously have made a fantastic product which could have been just as popular as LoL now. I really do miss the days when HoN was good, I don't think I've ever had that much fun on a video game before, and probably never will again.

e: Some memories:

- Playing casual mode, use boots of travel to TP near enemy barracks. Public teammate tiny: STUN HIM,NOAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
- The old Kraken where you fountain dove people and dragged them out for your team to 5-man wipe, or where you dragged whole enemy team into your fountain when they pushed.
- Support flint sitting mid and raping Doctor Replusor so hard he was level 2 at 6 minutes.
- Me playing SS and some guy as Mag just camping mid. Kids would die so many times and get so mad.
- The old pick tree/ophelia/whatever jungler and farm a doombringer and give to your carry. Best was when I picked flint and we got Doom, 5 man wiped enemy team, then just rushed past racks and straight to their fountain and camped them until the score was like 100-15.
- Pirat playing mid and going in for a gank, saying "IM COMING TOP, DON'T DIE *PUHHHHHLEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZEEEEE*. And of course, both teammates died before you got there.
- Pirat stormspirit/portal key bubbles, just jumping into enemy team and having them chase him half way across the map yelling like a kid in voice chat "I WONDER IF THEY'LL GET ME THIS TIME?!"
- Playing Arachna and going no webbed shot / mass stats into blink/hellflower build. So fucking hilarious
- Making some Krutnissar while waiting for queue to pop

hahahaha all of these fine moments, but yeah if s2 would've made it free 2 play and market it properly not to mention give in to icefrogs demands when he was working with them

my favorites was probably early early days of twitch way before i started streaming, and i sniped testie/korok and those kinda people and troll them was just amazing

HAHA I remember I saw you snipe Testie once. I think you got him twice in a row or something and the second time they just left ROFL.

I remember WAY back in early beta I played with some guy named UKPADDY like 8 hours a day. He was a legit fucking UK stoner with a thick accent and all the works. He was always high but was really good at the game. We would troll like all day long, picking strong dual lanes, stomping kids, then spamming shit at them. He taught me a shitload, it was probably one of the few times in a MOBA I was improving really fast and having fun at the same time.

Those really were the Golden Days when you could pick Dsham/Pestilence lane and just rape the game. The HoN community was shit from day 1, but it was so much fun trolling games, smurfing, and generally getting a HUGE reaction from people in all chat. Dota2 now is great and all, but it's more for serious competitive play. It's the kind of game where you pick 5-man lineups, ward/counterward from the start, 5-man all day, and say "ggwp" at the end of a game. It's great if you want a serious gaming environment, but I really do miss playing 1600 MMR HoN and just shitting on kids while having a huge flame war in all chat, with people making 20 new accounts to spam whisper you after they lost and you made them mad. I really wonder what would happen if S2 just got their shit together earlier and managed to port all the Dota heroes. Dota2 probably wouldn't exist and HoN would be the next big thing. Rule #1 as a business: NEVER skimp on legal fees.

anyway the game i was thinking of was a game i was playing pestilence and bought striders roamed and shit, he was playing zephyr and then like 30 min into the game he was 6 slotted his heart was flying in he dropped hatchet on ground>i go pickup drop it on him>he shifted queued courier so it trys to drop heart>run back to base and i did that like 3 times before he finally destroyed the hatchet, he muted me like after 5 min but then his streamchat went insane and spammed unmute for like 5 minutes and he unmuted

HAHA I feel bad for Testie, having to put up with this shit just to make a few bucks an hour from customers.

I remember when we 2-man queued we would literally do the same shit every game. I went mid on some hero and you went some roamer that could just camp mid all day. After 100s of games people still had no idea how to counter it. Their mid would be like level 2 with bottle at 6 minutes and I had freefarm for the entire laning phase. It seemed so obvious that people should just grab a fucking TP on their supports or have one support from safelane roam to mid and sit behind the mid player, but people were so dumb they had this idea of "MID GANK MY LANE, I NO GANK MID, HE LOSE MID HE NOOB MID IS SOLO LANE LOL". The best hero for camping mid ofc was Rampage because their hero would be forced to sit back at tower all game because they just fucking knew a charge could come any second.

testi made lots of $_$ from noobs and he still is doing ok afaik checking his stream every now and then
he doesn't really care much although sometimes he does get annoyed
