Dota2 have such boring graphics
I never understood this argument. Dota2's graphics are way better in several aspects. Not only are they technically more advanced and require a better video card, the developers also paid huge attention to the little things, which are really noticeable if you play a long time. The only downside to the graphics anyone ever talks about is how they're too "plain" or how they all blend together and the heroes don't stick out enough. IMO, this makes the game more aesthetically pleasing, you never have to strain your eyes to understand what's going on.
A few examples of little things the developers have done with the graphics aspect:
-Whenever you use Armlet on any hero, their "arms" always glow. This means that Broodmother with her 8 legs has her front 4 legs glow, Venomancer has his top little "fins" glow, etc. This must have been a bitch to code, but it's really awesome how Valve made the effort to be this consistent.
-Timbersaw changes looks depending on if he's being hit or not. If he's being hit, his passive skill "Reactive Armor" makes the heroes armor suit cover his head as well, whereas normally his head is sticking out.
-The Shadow Fiend requiem animation is just awesome. It's literally like a bunch of dark energy comes out of him, whereas in HoN soulstealer just shoots purple lines out of himself.
The ONLY thing HoN does better than Dota2 imo is the netcode. Even on a really low ping Dota2 units still have a slower reaction time than in HoN. They've fixed it quite a bit since beta and after a bunch of games you no longer feel it, but I'm sure anyone switching from HoN would notice it.
