I think I may actually start hosting tournaments because of this.

It truly pains me to see eSports get thrown in the dumpster, like S2 has done with HoN.

I don't know which game I would host, but I definitely feel for this cause.

hosting tours is actually quite fun all though requires some fair amount of work and need to make the right decisions

i hosted a couple of 1v1/2v2 tours in pvp eu 2-3 years ago

but i guess the more people commit the easier it gets,

Ya, I figure I'm going to start off with monthly SC 2 tournament with $100 prize pools. Then, hopefully grow from there.

I honestly want to invest heavily into this an try to turn it into a business. So, hopefully that pans out.

yes but how were you planning to sponsor the prizepool?
like every player pays 1$ to participate and the money they put in will not go back to them ( unless they like place in top 10 or however the price system will go )

The actual prizepool, and winning allocation, is not by any means set in stone. I plan on coming up with an acceptable pool and distribution for competitors.

I'm actually going to compile a bunch of my thoughts on management, and financing, and then creating a site for the public. :)

E: Also, all of the prizepool is coming from my salary, haha. So, ya, I'm going to try to make this as professional, and legit as I possibly can.

sounds like a good plan actually, i'm sure that if you make a couple of successful tours with people getting some winnings and the word is getting spread you could pretty easily find a sponsor to take care of the pricepool
