not really, helps with kiting and to get out of sticky situations
totally depends on the game though
usually steamboots are better on valk, imo, since you already have leap and you need to cycle ur steamboots to keep your mana up

also SS solo top is best option over solo mid because they always have a solo hammerstorm top
