I wrote this early in the morning, perhaps I wasn't clear in my point. I wasn't referring to high tier matches. Those are completely different and not representative of general public gameplay. What I meant is that Dota2 is just alot more serious than HoN in any level of play. Things that seem natural in HoN like rooping, voice chat trolling, and being a massive dick / trash-talker in general don't really fit the Dota2 atmosphere. Obviously there are going to be excpetions, but so far I've found Dota2 to be alot more mature / enjoyable / serious that HoN. The main enjoyment I've gotten out of HoN the past few years was trolling / smurfing / trash talking noobs / doing idiot tactics with friends. Without that, HoN was utterly boring and I couldn't stand to play it. Dota2 on the other hand is great if its just played normally and properly, which is one of the many reasons I conclude it to be a better game.
As for your second comment, comparing Icefrog to any S2 member or S2 as a whole is kind of rude towards Icefrog. He updated / balanced Dota from scratch for years, and even Dota1 tournaments were bigger than HoN, especially in China and shit. Obviously the game has some merit to it since Chinese sponsors were paying millions of dollars to teams and actually had personal coaches training players, etc. His ability in designing MOBAs is way better than that of anyone at S2, thats for sure, and he definitely is good at what he does.
The only potentially OP heroes I can think of at the moment are Invoker and Lycan. Invoker requires a really high skill level to use to his full potential, and is actually quite balanced or bad in the hands of an average player, now that EMP doesn't affect units in tornado. Lycan was just ported and could use some work, but any team which wards his small camp / wards AND counterwards roshan area will shut him down hard enough that he can't come back.

We can play sometime maybe but I really prefer playing with 3 or 5 people. 2 and 4 is just an awkward number because then the pubs are allocated in a weird way.
