overall it just seems like a more dynamic and refined game. let's face it, icefrog developed dota for years for no profit by himself with a handful of beta testers. dogkaiser or whoever the fuck balances hon and decides which new heroes to put in probably has trouble tying his shoes.
also, sooo many better players are in dota2, and the prize pools will always be way way bigger than anything HoN comes out with ($5m anyone?).
to me, hon just seems like a more "joke" game which you play to smurf around, use dumb alt avatars, and smack people down while trash talking / rooping / whatever. dota2 is alot more like sc2 in the sense that its serious and competitive and overall a good game that's meant to be enjoyed just by playing the game itself, not because of the supplementary bullshit HoN has
whenever i play dota2 now, i don't roop / trashtalk / troll over voice chat like i normally would in HoN. it just seems wrong given that the game is way way more refined in terms of balance and variety than HoN
dota2 is ofc better but hon still have areas where it's superior
being able to concede
you dont have to wait for all the retards to press "ready" when u found a match in mm
and the game engine and alot of the mechanics is alot better in hon, fluent gameplay, when you use bottle you regen every 0.05 or so while in dota you only regen like each 0.1 or 0.5 or so ( not sure ) and same when it comes to the well regen
hon also have the anti struck feature where you can just walk out from trees and stuffs, ofc this is good BUT you can make some broken escapes just because you are fissure blocked / boxed in and crap like that which is just stupid
devo/andro being able to use blink
when it comes to the heroes and items dota win easily, but as i said the game mechanics is pretty bad in dota though
