you seem like a smart kid with potential
high school is basically freetime. when you get to college (if you go to a good one), the exams are fucking insane and the projects are ridiculous. you really need to focus and won't have much time for anything else
so imo you're better off doing stuff for yourself in highschool rather than focusing too much on grades / college recruitment. do things that you enjoy that develop your character / enhance your creativity / make you a happy, confident person. if you do, getting where you want to go will come naturally
if you can do well on standardized tests, maintian a decent average, and come across to colleges as unique, creative, and capable, you really don't need any of that extra shit like "oh i was officer of so and so faggot club" or " i scored first place in blah blah blah blah i do mental math in my spare time and have never seen a woman naked".
i've seen lots of the streotypical kids with perfect avergaes, 10000 competition credentials, and no social skills / creativity. most of the time they don't get into the best colleges, and when they do, they don't perform that well. anyone can sit over a book for weeks and learn shit that's been done a million times before. very few people can show true heart/dedication/creativity to something and make things interesting and new. you should always aim to be one of the latter
