right click steam icon ----> Settings----> Friends

Ya its not working for me, it says its changed but doesn't show up in dota2 when I load it. Names probably taken I guess.

Nah not the name thats taken, when I type just random shit it doesn't change it either. Your talking about when you load steam and go under the friends tap right?
